Thank you for getting back to me. I had contacted the parish church secretary and knew the records they had did not go back to 1828. I have seen Griffith's Valuation for Claregalway and Kiniska. I guess I was hoping there was some magic list that showed names of family members in a household. Without a confirmation of the birth date in Griffith's, I guess I am out of options.

I will definitely look at the records of death when they come out online in July.  

I am visiting Ireland at the end of June and a stop in Claregalway is on the agenda. Any other tips you might suggest while I am there would be appreciated.
