  • Thanks Col, I appreciate you looking this up. I have the Daniel and Mary Cafferky marriage record - personallyl made the photocopy at the Vital Records office in Dublin. They married 17 March 1864. Mary's maiden name also is Cafferky. Her father's name is also Daniel. The fathers of both bride and groom are farmers in Polranny. Based on Daniel's age given in the marriage record, he was born circa 1829 or 1830 but we don't have the birth/baptism record for this or any other Daniel. Based on Mary's age in the marriage record (assuming I can believe it!), she is several years younger than Daniel and was born circa 1844, but we don't have her birth/baptism record yet. I will send you the image via email.

Met the wife of a possible Cafferky cousin via DNA data entered into GEDmatch.com She believes that her husband is a direct descendant of John Cafferky, possibly the same John Cafferky whom you believe might be the brother of your Patrick, the Anglican Mission "Reader." John also was a "Reader." I told Sarah that IF John, Patrick and our Daniel are truly brothers, then Patrick must be their father and Patrick is the ancestor in common for all three of the lines. Sarah says that she corresponded with you back in 2002. I am convinced that this will take a small group effort to sort it all out and put the pieces together. We may need someone in Ireland to pitch in with information.

    Thanks again for your persistence!

    Michael
