This lineage is definitely Roman Catholic

My Great Grandmother Anastasia Ellen McDonald (b. 8 Jun 1851 in County Wexford) traveled to Boston, Massachusetts and became a worker at Gormley Estate in Jamaica Plain, Boston.  She met and married William Patrick Breen (b 14 Jun 1844 Wexford County, Ireland; died 21 Nov 1896 Jamaica Plain, Boston, Massachusetts USA, a Gardener at the Gormley Estate, who also traveled from the same area, Wexford County, to Boston area.  They married in Jamaica Plain, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts 5 Jun 1877.  It was family lore that Anastasia emigrated from County Wexford, Ireland at age 16.  She traveled in 1906 back with her daughter to visit, as I found document of their return trip to Boston from New Ross, Ireland.

 Other family surnames are the Ferris and Rigley.

Anastasia's parents are Thomas McDonald (bc 1814 Wexford County, Ireland, died before 1880, probably in Wexford County, Ireland) and Margaret Ferris (bc 1814 County Wexford, Ireland; died 9 Sep 1890 in Boston, Massachusetts USA).

Other children of Thomas & Margaret McDonald are these three below.

a daughter, Ellen McDonald (bc 1841 Wexford County, Ireland - d. 27Feb 1926 Arlington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts USA) who married James Droney (b. Ireland) .  I found them in New York in 1870 Census US;

a son, Thomas McDonald (bc 1847 Kilkenny County, Ireland; died Jun 1911 in Thomastown, Kilkenny, Ireland).  I can't be sure of his data, but I have research for this man as in Millbanks, Rosbercon, Kilkenny County, Ireland  in 1901 Mar 31 with data that he is head of household at age 54 with wife Margaret and children, an aunt, SIL and McDonald nephew.Also I found  In 1911 Census of Graiguemanah, Kilkenny, Ireland, which the town is only 30 minutes car ride from New Ross. Another piece of info someone else in my family found is Thomastown, Kilkenny, Ireland.  He has him with a birth date of 1847 and that a wife Margaret in New Ross marriage.

and another daughter McDonald (bc 1852 County Wexford, Ireland)

William Patrick Breen's parents are Martin Breen and Sarah Rigley (both born in Ireland, dates unknown).  I assume they are from the same Wexford County area.

Another child of this couple would be Ellen M. Breen (bc. 1841 Wexford County, Ireland; died 9 Nov  1909 Hyde Park, Massachusetts USA)rea.

As above mentioned, I have seen some data that includes info from the next county west of Wexford (Kilkenny) as well for some of the surnames, but unable to verify if the family ancestors or even descendants might have come from there as well.

Thank you in advance for any details you may be able to locate and send to me regarding these ancestors.

    Sorry for the delayed response. I searched www.askaboutireland.ie for Griffiths Valuation records in Co. Wexford. This would have been from 1853. There were only two Thomas McDonald records both in Ardamin civil parish. One was in Seamount townland, the other Ballinatray Lower townland. Not sure if there were two different Thomas McDonalds or the same person with two holdings. This link provide all the names for Ardamine parish. There were no Breens or Rigleys in this parish.

    The RC parish for Ardamine civil parish is Ballygarrett. However, their records are not on Roots ireland. Later this summer the National Library of Ireland plans to place all RC parish registers online for free searching. You may want to look at the Ballygarrett records at that time.
