Hello,
I am attempting to find out where EXACTLY in Ireland my 3 GGF Luke Roach (b. abt 1797 in Ireland, died 1854 Lancashire, England) hailed from. I am fairly certain his daughter, my 2GGM Johanna Roach (1833-1876) was from Co. Wexford per an 1851 English census.
I researched some Tithe Applotment records for the 1830's and found three in nearby Co. Kilkenny.
I know that the RC records will be searchable online this summer and I look forward to that, but in the meantime, wondering if anyone might have any ideas or leads I can check into regarding my Roach family?
Thanks,
Casey Few

Col,
Thank you so much for your help in sharing these leads. All of you here on this site have been so helpful in giving me a little bit more to work with when I have hit a wall with my research. I will continue to look into these records and see how it all turns out! My sister and I are coming to Ireland in May...We are really looking forward to visiting! Thanks again for your help.

Hello, me again. Looking into possible leads on yet another set of my 3GGparents from Ireland - this time I am researching
RICHARD FARRELL (born abt 1818) and his wife, MARGARET LYNCH (born abt 1817)
I believe they left Co. Kilkenny, Ireland and lived in Manchester, England in 1861 & 1871.
Hoping to find out if there might be any record of them and/or their daughter, JOHANNA FARRELL (born abt 1838 in Ireland)
Other possible children of theirs might be ELLEN b. 1841 / JAMES b. 1846 / MARY b. 1847.
Thank you for your time.

Hi Casey
I couldn'r find a marriage record but found some likely birth/baptism records:
Not sure how you decide on which Margaret is yours - maybe the parish cloasest to Thomastown?
