Looking for information on Mary Corry and her family. Mary was transported to Australia 1849 aboard the Australasia.  Mother Bridget Dilane father Patrick Corry. Was in contact many years ago with Clare heritage centre who found that a Mary Corry and her husband Michael McNamara had a daughter Catherine baptised 27th August 1842 in the Patish of Flagmount. There was a Bridget Dilane and Patrick Corey who had a daughter Bridget baptised 23rd October 1831 in the Parish of Cratloe. There was a record for a Patrick Corry in the Tithe records for the Parish of Clondagad 1826.

Mary's convict record also stated there was a brother John. Mary was transported for threatnening to burn down her uncle John McNamara's property. Mary was married when she was transported to Australia but remarried in 1851. States she was a widow, A petition for family was refused in 1852.

  • Thanks for that Col

Don' t recognise any of the names but Cratloe has come up before so it's quite possible they are related to Mary in some way. There are various spellings of the surname and Cory is on some of the information I have.

    Thanks so much

    Maggie
