I am trying to find information on my family who livid in Loughrea in the 1800's Tannian and Langley. I'm not sure if there are still Tannians there, but I was told the last Langley died in the 1970's. Any information willl be appreciated.

    You may want to check out the online Irish phone book. There are two Tannian entries in Loughrea and one in Craughwell which is about 10 kilometers from Loughrea. Because of privacy concerns, I can'r share the names and addresses without the individuals permisiion so you need to do your own look-up.

    If you would like more info on your family fron the 1800s, please share the data you already have so one of our volunteers can see if they can assist you.

    Loughrea has a good collection of Local History resources, the Catholic parish register of birth and marriages dates from the late 1700's and is complete up to today. If you want the following society has extensive records for the area and are able to do a quick search free of charge, more detailed searches are charged at a reasonable rate, or as Roger said, one of us could take a look.
