My Greatgrandfather James Wray came from Ireland his first wife was Elizabeth Doherty, their 2 children Agnes Wray 1875 and William Joseph Wray 1873 were born in Killala, Mayo.
I would like any information on Elizabeth Doherty born c1850 and Jane Doherty born c1862. On the 1881 English census it says they were born in Galway.
On the 1881 census it says that James Wray was born in Belfast about 1848, he was a policeman in Donegal and joined in 1868 aged 20.
If anyone can help I would be most grateful.

Hi Pat,
There is a record of the baptism of Elizabeth Dogherty in Galway 1846 on www.rootsireland.ie/ (which is a subscription site). The parish is Rahoon R C. Parents Patrick Dogherty & Catherine Wynn.
No luck finding Jane though I'm afraid.
