Honor was tried at Kildare on 25th October 1849 for stealing potatoes from a Miss Graham and was transported as a convict to Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) per ship Duke of Cornwall in 1850. See link -

http://foundersandsurvivors.org/pubsearch/convict/chain/ai68234

Honor, who pleaded guilty, was tried with her older brother James, who was also convicted of receiving stolen potatoes, and transported for ten years; although he did not leave until 1853, and was sent to Western Australia on the ship Phoebe Dunbar.

A James BRYAN was acquitted of the same offence.

James and Honor's parents were John (or James ?) STINES and Mary KEENIHAN, who may have moved to County KILDARE at some time prior to Honor's trial there in 1849 - see original County KILDARE message posts at -

This John and Mary, have children that more closely match those on Honor's convict records. Baptisms for some of Honor's siblings and Honor herself, have been found.

The possibly correct family details are -

Parents - John STINES and Mary KEENIHAN of Tinoran Townland - married at Baltinglass, WICKLOW on 22 July 1817

Children -

Rose bapt. 9 Oct 1821

William - bapt. 8 Jan 1822 (in County KILDARE) - possibly also a transported convict to VDL per ship Lord Dalhousie in 1852 (with surname HYNES)

Anne - bapt. 4 Nov 1824

Mary - bapt. 8 Apr 1826

James Anthony - bapt. 25 May 1828

Honor Ann (Annie) bapt. 20 June 1830

Eleanor (Ellen) bapt. 24 June 1832

Margaret (Peggy) b. circa 1834.

Any additional information would be appreciated.
