Cornelius DARCY and Mary MCENERTNEY are the parents of Eliza DARCY.  Eliza immigrated to Australia in 1854 on the Clipper ship the Lady Peel.  She was born abt 1836 in Newmarket Co Clare.  She married Daniel Patrick Howard 1855 in Ballarat Victoria Australia.  She died in 1920 in Geelong Victoria Australia.  Evidence suggests she recieved assisted passage to Australia as she took up a spot of domestic servant with a Jas Kirk.  It is also thought that both her parents had died before she immigrated.

  • Dear Maureen

welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Have you already tried ancestry.com or family search? Outside of this, sometimes there is mention of the girls who went on assisted schemes in local newspapers, you could subscribe to the Irish Newspaper Archive. You can pay for as little as one day, so it is very handy:
    http://www.irishnewsarchive.com/

Th website of Clare County Library would also be useful and of interest to you:

    Best wishes
