Hello,

I am trying to locate any living relatives of my grandfather John Kehoe who emigrated from Laken Hollow, New Ross to New York City in 1912. From letters I have found I know he had a brother Philip and 3 sisters. Philip had at least 2 sons, James Kehoe, and Michael Kehoe who had a farm in Raheen and 3 children.

In 2000 Michael posted a message on Ancestry.com looking for his cousin James Kehoe (my father). I know he is a direct relative due to the accuracy of the posting. Unfortunately I only became aware of the message in 2013 and was unable to respond.

I am hoping to connect with someone from Michael's family but I am unsure how to proceed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

KKehoe

  • Looking at the current Irish phone book, there appears to be a Kehoe still living in Raheen. Are you aware of that? If not, I?d suggest you get in touch with him, in case he can put you in touch with Michael?s family. And in any event he?s presumably related to you.

I won?t paste the details here because of this site?s privacy policy but you can look the information up on this link:

  • Dear Ahoghill,

I apologize for such a late response, but I wanted to thank you for your help in finding my relatives last year. I had actually already had the phone number that you suggested, but I was unsure and afraid  that my call may seem too intrusive. After navigating your website and reading your post I realized that it was worth a try.  You gave me the courage to make a call one Sunday afternoon. I'm so happy to tell you that I was able to reach my father's cousin that day and we made an instant connection. It was one of my happiest moments! We have since been corresponding by mail, and I have connected to his daughter by email. Thank you so much for helping me reconnect to lost family. Looking forward to a trip back to Ireland soon!

Thank you to you and your co-workers who provide such a wonderful service.

    Best regards,

    KKehoe
