I am trying to locate records for my Great Grandparents, John (Born 1856) & Mary McGuinn (nee O'Hara Born 1856) and the records show they were from Tobercurry.

From the records I have traced in England (1881 Cenus) they possibly arrived in England with 2 sons, John (Born 1879) & Denis (Born 1877) and settled at that time in Shipley, Nr Bradford, West Yorkshire.  My Grandfather Michael was born in Shipley.

My Great Grandfather was a Blacksmith which would have been his trade in Tobercurry before he came to England and I can only assume that he would possibly have come over when the railways and canals were being developed.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to have duplicated the effort.  I thought I had moved onto a different area of the website.  My mistake.

    Thanks for all your help

I don't think it is clear to the users that when you post on a parish page or a county page that all postings are reflected on the main Ireland XO message board. There are about 6 of us who monitor all the messages and try to assist those who post messages. We try to respond to all of the messages although some are almost impossible to find any information because they go back to the 1700s or early 1800s where record sources are scarce or non-existent.
