I would love to hear from anyone with information relating to my great great grandparents
Martin Dooner and Bridget Pillion.
Their son, ( my great grandfather) John Dooner,born about 1818, native of seven churches
county offaly, Kings county.
John came to australia aboard the ship, James Mathieson and arrived in Australia on the
14/4/1841. his papers show that his mother, Bridget Pillion had died.

Hello Lorna,
Many church records can be found at www.rootsireland.ie and www.irishgenealogy.ie. When searching, keep your parameters broad. Don't tie yourself down with dates and gradually introduce names. Refine as you go.
I can't say that I have ever heard the surnames before, so they can't be too common. Go to www.askaboutireland.ie and search the Griffith Valuation to see if either of their families leased any land.
