~~One of my brick walls is my great great grandmother Bridget McTigue. I cannot locate any information for her, and have been guessing up this point that she was also from county Mayo. She was married to my great great grandfather John P Kilroy (1851-1929).
My direct line/branch of the Kilroy family tree is from Ballyteige, Glenhest.
My grandfather was John P Kilroy (1885-1955). His brothers and sisters were:
Patrick (1886-1924)
Margaret Ann (1887-1917)
Mary (1889-?)
James Joseph (1890-1948)
Edward (1892-?)
Bridget (1894-?)
Catherine (1897-?)
Patrick came to the Unites States briefly but returned to Ireland. The remaining brothers and sisters all immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
My father was Robert Anthony Kilroy (1933-1991) the youngest of nine (9) children of John P Kilroy (1885-1955) and Henrietta Spink (1890-1948).
I have copies of the 1901 and 1911 census for the family. In 1901 John P is listed as married, however, a wife is not listed on the census return. Maybe she wasn’t “at home” at the time the census was taken. In 1911 John P is listed as widowed. Bridget McTigue Kilroy then probably died sometime between 1901 and 1911.
I would welcome hearing from anyone who might be a connection to my family in Cleveland, as well as in Ireland. And any information on Bridget McTigue will be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,

Eileen:
Do you have civil birth records for any of the children of John P. and Bridget? I have been looking for the civil birth index records, the marriage index record and Bridget's death index record with no success. It is unusual not to find any of these records.

Hello Eileen,
I went to www.rootsireland.ie and searched the marriage records for a Bridget Mc Tigue and John Kilroy.
It came up with one record for marriage between them in 1874 in Co. Mayo.
You will need to register with this site(free) and it will cost you about €5 to view and print this record. It should have the name of the bride's father on it. Once you have even one parent's name it will make the search for her baptismal record easier.
Kind regards,

Following Anne's great lead, I looked on my index record source (findmypast.ie) and found the index record in 1874. Bridget was shown as M'Tigue and John was shown as Kilroye. The marriage was recorded in the Westport registration district.

Hello Eileen,
Wondering if you or any Kilroys descendants from this area have done DNA testing?
