Michael Coen born Jan 1842 in Galway County, Ireland. Father may have been Patrick Coen and mother Eliabeth Coen. Michael left to go to US around age 15 in 1857. Trying to confirm if father was Patrick and what mother's maiden name was. Coen may have been spelled Cone

I went to www.rootsireland.ie and searched for Michael Coen. I couldn't believe how many families there are with that surname. It's very difficult to find your michael without having the parent's names.
I found a ecord for a michael Coen, father Patrick Coen, mothe Ellen in 1847 in Co. roscommon??
Don't know if this is he or not.
Have you tried to get his death certificate in the states? this can sometimes throw up unexpected information.

I do not have but will send for his death certificate in Ohio, US. I do have his marriage record but his names was spelled Cone instead of Coen on it and his parents were listed as Patrick and Elisabeth Coen. I do know that his mother died before his father and that in 1905 his 2 half brothers and stepmother lived in Iowa, US but I can't find any record for them. I wil get the death certifcate and contact you back if I get more clues from it. Thanks so much for your help.
