Hi,
I am currently researching my family tree and my ancestors are from Waterford in Ireland but am stuck with going further. My great great grandfather was Michael Byrnes who was a mariner born in the county of Waterford in 1836 and his wife Frances Gereaghty was born in Dublin in 1841. They married in St Mary's Cathedral Sydney in 1864. I cannot trace further back than this and am hoping someone can give me further information.
cheers
Verelle Connolly-Byrnes.

Hi Verelle,
I went to www.rootsireland.ie and found 13 Michael Byrnes born in Co. Waterford between 1831 and 1841.
Without any parents name it will be most difficult to find out which one is yours. I would suggest that you go through his children's names and see if there are any records among those 13 that may have that name as a parent? Many children were called after their grandparents.
The records for part of Dublin can be found at www.irishgenealogy.ie (free site) You may find Frances there?
Sorry I can't be of more help to you,
Anne Dennehy
