Searching for information regarding the family of Patrick Vaughan, born March, 1849 somewhere in County Waterford. Patrick's parent's names were Patrick Vaughan and Margaret Barry (Berry). Patrick immigrated to America in 1853, as a child. I do not know if he came with his parents or arrived with another family. Patrick eventually settled in Dubuque, Iowa, I have traced him there as early as 1867. In 1872 he married Katherine Meagher. I am having trouble finding any Vaughan's in County Waterford, around the time of Patrick's birth in 1849. Patrick was a miner in Dubuque, working with his father-in-law, Patrick Meagher, who immigrated to the United states around 1835, with his wife Julia. I believe the Vaughan and Meagher families may have know each other in Ireland. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you much for your reply to my posted inquiry. I am a bit confused though, as I did have a previous comment, relating to my inquiry, which also referred to the paying website, rootsireland.ie. This individual stated that there were no baptisms in County Waterford for Patrick Vaughan, and only 1 marriage, which took place in 1833. I would very much like to check out this website, but now I'm not as sure, I suppose the best way is to go to it and search myself. I do appreciate your reply and am optimistic about the information in your post. Maire.
