I would like to know what parish Thomas Quinn came from and any other info that may be available.

Thomas Quinn was born abt 1795.
According to the 1861 Canada Census, he and Ellen McHugh were married in 1819.
They had four sons all born in Ireland: James (abt 1821), Michael (abt 1831), Thomas (abt 1833) and Patrick (abt 1834).

James immigrated to Quebec, Canada before 1848. He married Ellen Gahagan (born in Ireland 1820) in Old Chelsea, QC in 1848 and his parents are listed as living in Mayo, Ireland.

Thomas and Ellen immigrated to Quebec with their remaining three sons prior to 1851 as they are listed in the 1851 Census as living in Templeton, Ottawa County, Canada East (Quebec), Canada.

There are two family stories regarding the Quinn's leaving Ireland. The first is there were seven brothers: three went to Upper Canada (now Ontario) and four went to Lower Canada (now Quebec).

The second story is the Quinn's were "kicked out" of Ireland for stealing horses. Not sure how true this is (hopefully not at all) but it may help tie these Quinn's to a parish.

Any and all info is MUCH appreciated! I will be traveling to Ireland in the Fall of 2014 and would love to visit the parish where they came from.
