Searching for Bridget Catherine Ryan b 1834 Thurles

I don't hold much hope in tracking my Bridget Catherine Ryan, with the Ryan name being so prevalent in Thurles.  I know she was the daughter of Michael Ryan and Margaret Tynan (according to her marriage cert to Lawrence O'Rourke 1857 in Melbourne) and that she was born about 1834.

I also have discovered the death in 1876 of Thomas Michael Ryan born 1831, who was a brother I assume, as his death records the same parents.  He also was in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

I would love to be able to find out more about this family, but regardless, I will be visiting Thurles in June and would love some pointers for genealogy research in the area.  

Bridget ended up in Dunedin, ,New Zealand and was my GG grandmother.
