Hi. I am searching for anyone who is related to my paternal grandfather. His name was Bernard Joseph Solan and he was born in 1919. His fathers name was John Solan, a constable, and his mothers name was Margaret Reilly. He also had 1 sister that I am aware of - she became a nun, however I do not know her name. Being that my grandfather was a devout Catholic and from a very devout Catholic family, I am sure that he must of had other siblings. I would like to know more about my great-grandparents and as far back into the family tree as possible. My grandfather emigrated to South Africa (date unknown) and married a Scottish lady, Margaret Solan (nee Young) at St Patricks Church in Benoni, Johannesburg. They had 5 children together - Robert John Solan, Peter Anthony Solan, Graham Patrick Solan, Bernard Michael Solan (my dad) and Catherine Mary Theresa De Langen (nee Solan). I think I can make out the word Castlebar on his birth certificate but I'm not sure as to what that is referring to. I would like to get in touch with anyone related to either Margaret Reilly or Bernard Joseph Solan.
