Hi

Found a couple of articles today in Kildare Observer of 1904 and 1906 regarding an assault on a "respectable old woman" with the same name as my great grandmother (Bridget CASEY. However, the paper covered a wide area and several towns and villages and I couldn't really determine the location of the event. The articles said that it happened on "DROGHEDA ROW" which I assume to be a street name. My Bridget, according to the 1901 and 1911 census lived in Ballitore Hills -- would this be where Drogheda Row might have been?

thanks
Mary

  • Hi there Mary

I did a quick search on the National Archives Census website and found Drogheda Row in Monastervan, Co Kildare in 1901.  There are others around the country but this appears to be the only one in County Kildare.
