I have evidence that my ancestors John Dougherty[variant spellings] and Julia Corcoran married in Aghaloo parish in 1859.
Could anyone supply the details for me?
Thanks,
Godfrey

Godfrey,
If can give me the exact date, I'll look it up for you next time I am in PRONI (Belfast). They have a copy of the parish records there.

Hi Elwyn,
Thanks for your offer of help. The evidence I have suggests that my ancestors married in 1859 in Aghaloo RC parish.
They were John Dogherty[variant spellings] and Julia Corcoran. They had a son James born in 1860 and if you could check for his baptism in Aghaloo also I'd be grateful.
Kind regards,
Godfrey

Godfrey,
I looked up the marriage on Aghaloo RC records (MIC1D/36 at PRONI.). The marriage took place on 9th October 1859. The entry is in Latin: ?Mat con Joannes Dogherty & Juliam Corcoran. W: Guillelam Rafferty & Francisco Campbell.? (Married John Dogherty & Julia Campbell. Witnesses: William Rafferty & Francis Campbell.).
I looked for the baptism of James Dogherty in 1860 but did not see it. (Tradition was to marry in the bride?s parish assuming they did not both come from the same parish. So if John lived in another parish, then the childrens baptisms may be there).
