Patterson 3 and 4 times Great grandfather

I can?t see a John Patterson death registered in Dungannon any time around 1875, in the Irish civil indexes. What?s your source for this information?

Sorry I had it backwards -James Isom Patterson Not John.  His son is John Artemis Patterson. I got this information from Ancenstry.com.

Death of James Patterson registered Dungannon 1875 Volume 1, page 564. Est year of birth 1795.

You can order a photocopy of the death certificate from GRO Roscommon, for ?4. Download the application form from their website. Complete with his name, Dungannon, the year, volume and page number. Don?t worry about leaving other boxes blank. If you want them to e-mail the cert to you, tick the box. You have to post or fax the application form to them though. You can?t e-mail it.

The death cert should give you his townland, which should help trace him in Griffiths Valuation and other records. The marital status and the informant?s details may also be helpful.

Was there any information on John Artemis Patterson born 12/25/1818 in Tyrone?

He is my three times great grandfather.

John Patterson is a very common mame with literally hundreds of them in the indexes. Middle names weren?t commonly used at that period and so there?s no help there. They are nearly all just John Patterson. However not so many in Co Tyrone.

Nearest seems to be JP who died Dungannon Apr ? Jun 1886 Vol 1, page 416, est year of birth 1819. Another died Dungannon Apr ? Jun 1891, Vol 1, page 430. Est year of birth 1811.
