Hey was wondering about information on John Monaghan and his wife Mary Hogan and their son Anthony(born 1826). all of which are great granparents of mine.. In the Catholic Church in ottawa,ON,CAN, where anthony got married it says that John Monaghan and Mary Hogan are his parent and from County Mayo Ireland.

  • Can you find Anthony's date of arrival in Canada. What year did he marry and did he stay in Ottawa.

    I checked the Sailings from Blacksod, Co. Mayo from 1883-4 in case I could see more family members joining yours in Ottawa. Many who travelled to Quebec put down their final destination as Pennsylvania. There were 107 Monaghan's emigrating and 29 Hogans. Only some had details of their townland in Mayo. One family of Hogan's had Rossport as their townland, and one family of Monaghans had Tallagh.
