Hello!
I am looking for the family of my gr gr gr grandmother, whose name was Winifred Larkin (1802 - 1885); she married Patrick Mulry (1792 - 1832) and they lived in Hollygrove townland (tithe applot books 1830). He died and so did his brother Lawrence and L's wife Honora Larkin, in the 1830s, and Winifred began sending the 11 children of the two families to NYC. We believe to an older Larkin relative, maybe a brother, already there.
In the Emigrant Savings Bank test books in the 1850s, she says her parenrts were James Larkin & Jane Kelly, both deceased.
I have seen online a copy of Jane Kelly Larkin's grave marker :
"Lord have mercy on the soul of Jane Kelly who dep.td July the 7th 1808 aged 32 yrs
This stone was erected by her beloved husband James Larkin & Sons Mich.l & Tho.s for them and posterity."
If James was deceased in 1854, when Winifred told this to the bank, then he must have erected the stone before his own death, yes?
But I do not know where it is located. Could it be in the Kilcroan cemetery? I know that there are Larkins buried there.
I would like to know whether Winifred and Honora had other siblings besides Michael & Thomas, and if so, who they were & whether they remained in the area, or went to NY, or passed away. Would any stones in this cemetery help? And is Jane Kelly Larkin's stone there or somewhere else?
Thanks so much if anyone can help! Elly Finnerty
