I am searching for Information on my g-g-grandfather David Copeland born approx 1850 maybe . Who we believe comes from somewhere around Bangor as we are told my g-grandfather Frank Copeland born 1968 attended clandeboye school.
We know nothing about David only that he was and actor and that he was deceased by the time Frank got married in 1910 as it was listed on Franks wedding certificate.
We also have no birth certificate for Frank Copeland either.
If anyone has any information that could help please get in contact.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your message-I hope that someone with information makes a connection with you.
Have you tried looking at church records in Bangor parish to see if you can find any birth records for either David or Frank?
Catholic records for Bangor start in 1855, but unfortunately there are no copies available so you will hev to contact the local parish priest for assistance:
Here is the contact page for the parish priest:

Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Here are their websites: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/ and http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42
Lists of these surviving registers can also be found at the National Library of Ireland.
Have you tried looking for the family in Griffith?s Valuation? This is a property valuation survey carried out 1848-64. It doesn?t give any genealogical information but can sometimes be used to tie a person to a specific place-if you know Frank?s father?s name you may be able to find him in this:

Have you looked for the family in the 1901/1911 census records? http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/
Some other websites that you may find useful are:

It may also be an idea to contact the Ulster Historical Foundation for some assistance, however a fee may apply:
