My father was Michael Swift DOB 1915, Island Ballyhaunis.....Father was Michael Swift (1871-1955) and Mother I believe was named Mary Mullany (1876-1958) Mary is buried in the church in Ballyhaunis town with my Grandfather and half-uncle Thomas. Mary was first married to Michael Boyle (1878-1913) she is buried under the name Mary Boyle Swift in the graveyard, plot 364 section C. This is as far I have been able to go online and I am hoping that someone will have more information.. I was back in Ballyhaunis 2 years ago but was unable to locate the farm, or find the grave.

Below is the 1906 marriage index record for the marriage of Michael Boyle and Mary Mullaney (you can ignore the other names. They were for other marriage recorded on the same page). If you want a copy of the record, you can write to the GRO www.groireland.ie fill out their form and provide the quarter/year of marriage, registration district (Claremorris) and the volume and page number ( 4 and 96). Costs around 4 euros). The record will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where they lived when they married. Further below is the 1911 census record for Michael Boyle and Mary and their three children. They were living with Michael's father in Island. Finally, the third record is the 1914 marriage index record for Michael Swift and Mary Boyle. Follow the same process mentioned above for a copy of the record.
