My great grandfather John IRVINE was born about 1823 in Ireland. His parents were William IRVINE and Margaret MOFFATT. Their marriage is recorded in the Magheraculmoney Church Records, St Mary's Church, Ardess as follows: 11 May 1821 William Irvine, Parish of Magheracross and Margaret Moffatt, Parish of Derryvullan. Married by Licence. Minister Wm Atthill. Magheracross Church Records record a baptism 3 July 1826 of William son of William Irvine and Margaret of Cavan. Other children are recorded in Enniskillen Methodists baptisms, parents William and Margaret Irvine of Cavan, as follows: Robert 1827, Catherine 1829, Margaret 1835, Mary 1840 and Rebecca 1842. John Irvine was a Musketry Instructor in the Imperial Army, married Phoebe Ruth Tucker of Kent and emigrated to Victoria Australia in 1865, also with his sister Rebecca. A brother Robert also emigrated to Victoria. Another brother Christopher emigrated and lived in Maitland, NSW and retired to Hamilton, Victoria.

Hi Margaret,
Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone with information makes a connection with you and helps you to further your research.
I found a record of a Margaret Irvine in Griffith's Valuation. She was recorded in Enniskillen parish in 1862-I wonder if this is your Margaret?
