Looking for family of origin of Thomas Kilduff born 1791 in Ireland and John Waldron born 1805 in Offaly, which is next to Galway. Both men set up farms near Kingston, Upper Canada around 1830. Both were my great great grandfathers, one from Mom's side of the family and the other from Dad's. I found a database on rootsweb containing birth records for Kilbegnet Civil Parish in the 1830s and 1840s. It lists 2 daughters born to Patrick Kilduff and Maria Kean; 3 children born to John Kilduff and Jane Cuddy, and 3 children born to Bridget Kilduff and Thomas Mulvihill; all in this time period.

On the same database were listed 3 children of Patrick Waldron and Mary Gille/Gill, 3 children of John Waldron and Anna Corr, and one son to Jane Waldron and Bernard Mullen.

Any information about these families will be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi,

Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone with information on these families makes a connection with you and helps you to further your research.

In the meantime, it may also be an idea to contact the East Galway Family History Society to see if they can be of any assistance, however a fee may apply. Here is their email:

  • My third great grandfather is John Waldron who immigrated from Ireland to Ontario Canada. He was born in 1805 and passed away in 1897....if this is the correct one that is. I don't have much information on him but I can give some Waldron relatives names and some dates if needed.
