My grandmother, Mary May Wright, was born Feb 1861 in Ballymacbrennen, County Down, and immagrated to the US in 1879 where she married Daniel Walker Richmond sometime between 1880 and 1900.. My Uncle, Harry Walker Richmond, a Presbyterian minister, went back to Ireland sometime about 1924 and preached in the church that his mother, Mary May Wright, had been baptised in. Some in the family say that it was in Antrim but if she was born in County Down I am not so sure. Is there anyone there who might have some knowledge as to which church that might have been. The family here in the US would really like to know.
Also Daniel's mother, Eliza Ann Bell, was born in County Down on 15 April 1825. I know the county is large, but are there any Bell family members doing any research or does anyone have any information about her.? Thanks.

There are two townlands named Ballymacbrennan in Co Down. One is in the parish of Drumbo, the other in Magheralin. Do you know which she came from?
There are 3 Presbyterian churches in the Drumbo area ? Ballycairn, Carryduff & Drumbo itself. Not sure what there is around Magheralin.
Probably your best bet would be to search the church records for her baptism. Copies are held in PRONI, Belfast but they are not on-line anywhere.

Thank you for this information - it is very interesting and I will pass it on to my co-investigators and see what we can come up with.
