I am researching a family with the surname MONTAGH. I'm wondering how this would be pronounced. I've found records for the family with such misspellings and/or alternative names as (very often) MURTAGH, MURTAUGH, (and often) MURTH, MURTON, and maybe others not coming to mind right now. Might this name even be 'related' somehow to MONTAGUE?

I am unfamiliar with the surname Montagh, however Murtagh I have heard of. The ?agh? part of the name is pronounced ?ta?.
