  • Do you know any more about them?  What are Michael's dates of birth and death?  When did he arrive in Australia and on which vessel did he arrive?  Green and Greene were very common names in these parts so a lot more information is needed to connect him with other Greens from this area.  Is there any additional information on his tombstone?

  • Thank you for providing a great deal of information but none of that so far is definite in connecting with the Greens for which I am searching at the moment.  The time period is right though. Perhaps if you have come across any of these place names in your research.........

    Mahoonagh/Castlemahon Parish

    Cloncagh, near Ballingarry

    Knockaloughra (or Knockalorough)

    Odleville

Coorass or Coolruss (various spellings but it is near Newport)

    Or these surnames......

    Fitzgerald

    Odle

    Clifford

Also I have a Patrick Green but I have no idea what relation he was to this family.  I have another lady in contact with me looking for a Robert Green so if you have come across that name in your documents, it may help her also.  All the Christian names you mention figure prominently in the family for which I am searching but that is not saying much with Irish genealogy as the Christian names are so repetitive.  I am particularly interested in a Patrick Green who was killed in (Coorass) in 1827.   Have you any ideas where your Greens were situated in the Tithe applotment Boks?  That might help in finding out if we are relatives.

  • Daniel and Honora Greene had a daughter Honorah b 1802 Rathkeale. Co Limerick who married Jeremiah Hearn . Jeremiah arrived in Australia in 1841. His wife and children arrived later.I am assuming that all my Greene relatives that came to Australia were from Rathkeale. All other bdm certificates that I have just state Limerick on them. Honorah's was the first one that I have that names Rathkeale. this probably does not help you much at all. sorry. Lorraine.
