I am searching for the extended family of Patrick (O) Connell, b: 1825 in Knockridera (maybe) & Mary (O) Connor from Abbeyfeale, Limerick. In Griffith's Valuation, Mary Connor is renting land from Bryan McSweeney along with Michael Connell, who I believe is Patrick's father, in Kilmaniheen East.
Patrick had a sister named: Julia who married John Sullivan, and possibly had 2 brothers, James & John.
I believe, Patrick's Dad was named, Michael and his Mom was named: Julia Herlihy.
Mary Connor had 6 brothers: Daniel, Denis, John, Michael, Patrick & William & 1 sister: Johnanna.
According to "Family Lore" the Connor's had a turf farm in the area that was lost in a 'game of chance'.
I'm curious if there is a way to substantiate this story or add details to it?
Additionally I just learned that Patrick Connell had a title: 'Arudara' and was known as the "Knight of Kilmanahan" his farm house is fabeled to be the oldest stone house in the area. I'm curious if someone can assist me in substantiating this title or adding some background?
Patrick Connell & Mary Connor, had 10 kids and many of them emigrated to the U.S. by way of Ohio, NYC & San Francisco I'm happy to assist anyone who's interested in possible connections.

I have been searching for a Dennis Connors b approx 1780 who was in Nova Scotia married to a Ruth or Lydia Lister and having many children in Halifax (Ketch Harbour) Nova Scotia. Canada. I have made lists of all the 'early' Connors in the area I have found listed anywhere. One of them was a DENNIS O'CONNERS Tailer died April 27 1826 Halifax NS aged 76 from "Abbeyfail?" (question mark was included in the obit from the Acadian Recorder) Co Wexford.
I discovered that Abbeyfeale is not in Wexford but i have no clues as to my Conners ancestor so i am researching all the early Connors in Halifax Nova Scotia.

I would just say that in the broad Limerick / Kerry accent of some of my elderly relations Abbeyfeale would certainly sound as Abbeyfail to an untutored ear.

I have o'connor. o'connell, cahill, etc., roots in Abbeyfeale, Mountcollis, Tournafulla, and in Brosna, County Kerry. But, I'm unable to go much fatrther than the mid 1800's. Most of my recent discoveries have come from putting pieces together with and from other trees and results from other researchers, rather than just from official records.
Anything I may provide you, please let me know. I use ancestry.com as my repository and tracking mechanism for my tree data. If access to any of that would help you, please advise...
