Hi, I've had more time looking over info on my Great grandad Peter Walsh.
here is what I've got- 1911 censor place of birth Peters well Galway.
1901 censor place of birth Killifin Ireland. I've googled Killifin and can't find anything on it.
Marriage certificate, fathers name John Walsh a farmer.
So I've done a search on Peter Walsh 1874 Galway with father John Walsh and got something, (photos attached) but how do I find out if this is the correct match? Do they come under Peterswell Parish? Do they have any other children? What's the next step?

Hi,
Thanks for your message.
Peterswell is the name of a Catholic Parish in Galway. Ireland is also divided in civil parishes. Peterswell belongs to the civil parish of Kilthomas:
Have you tried looking at the records available in Peterswell parish? Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available. For Peterswell parish, follow this link:
Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Here are their websites: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/ and http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42
Lists of these surviving registers can also be found at the National Library of Ireland.
You could also try contacting the East galway Family history society for assistance, however a fee may apply. Here is their email: galwayroots@eircom.net
Kind regards,
