I am responding to Eirehomme in regard to his message about the Glynn family of Fohenagh. I have long been tracing the Glynns in this parish, but I cannot determine which line of Glynns might be my ancestors. I have the following information, and I am hoping that you might be able to assist me:
Bridget Glynn, b. ca 1844 in Fohenagh Parish m. John Kennedy b. 1841 in Doon, Fohenagh Parish. They had the following children all of whom were born in Doon: Patrick b. 1859, Thomas b.ca 1860, Margaret b. 1863, Mary Agnes b. 1865, Ann b. 1867, John b. 1869. The family emigrated to New York in 1872.
John Kennedy was a herder, but I am uncertain for which landlord he worked. It is possbile that his parents were John Kennedy and Catherine Healy.
I am seeking the parents of Bridget, so that I might determine from which Glynn family I descend. I have been to the parish in Fohenagh, and there is no record of her birth or of her marriage.
I am hoping that someone may have ties to this family.

I don't even know the birthplace in Ireland yet for my great grandmother Anna M. Nolan (maiden name: Glynn ) but one thing I do know is that she was married to my great grandfather John James Nolan that immigrated to the U.S. in 1916 from blacklion, Killinagh, county Cavan Ireland, had to be born somewhere in the 1890' s, maybe 1895.
