Hi Lynne
I had a quick look on Roots Ireland but there doesn't seem to be any record in Mayo for children born to Thomas Bird and Ann Conway, nor is there any record of a marriage for that couple anywhere in Ireland. I checked the Tithes for that period and there are no Birds in Mayo but 76 recorded in Ireland overall during that period (1830s).
The Griffith's Valuation (1855) has only 8 Birds listed in Co. Mayo, unusually all women, listed in the parishes of Ballinrobe and Ballishoole, see link
It is a pity I can't seem to come up with anything as Bird is not a very comon name and as civil registration doesn't begin until 1864 there will be no State records of their births or marriages. Assuming they didn't all emigrate I checked the 1901 Census and there are a few Bird's there who seem to be 1 family but again strangely listing 2 Heads of Household:
Best of luck
