I did a search on the National Archives transportation database. I could not find any record fo r James but I did find the following for Bridget Dogherty:

WIth regards to James given the dates of his transportation you will have to look in church records to find information on him. This may be difficult if you do not know for sure where he is from as records are mostly still held locally.
Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Here are their websites: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/ and http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42
