My greatgrandmother was Rose A. Lynn, born 1865 at White Mountain, Cluntygeeragh, Dungiven. She emigrated through the port of Philadelphia, USA about 1882. Her two sisters, Mary and Catherine (Katy) also emigrated to the USA around this time. Two brothers, John and Francis probably remained in Ireland.
Her father was, Patrick Lynn (1828-1911+) of Cluntygeeragh, Dungiven who married Bridget Cassidy of Moneyneena, Ballinascreen. They lived in Cluntygeeragh. Patrick was in the 1911 census of Cluntygeeragh when he was very old. I have no idea when or where Bridget Cassidy Lynn died.
Patrick's parents were William Lynn and Nancy Kane. I don't know any details about Nancy Kane and have no idea which Kane family in Cluntygeeragh she belonged to.
After she emigrated to the USA, Rose Lynn married Matthew Francis Murray, originally of Moneyneena, Ballinascreen. They had met years earlier at the home of their common aunt and uncle in Moneyneena. Rose's aunt Annie Lynn of Cluntygeeragh was married to John McLernon of Moneyneena

Have you tried looking in civil records to see if you can find some record of Bridget?s death? Civil registration began in 1864 so any births, deaths and marriages after the period are recorded here. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office in Dublin. Here is their website:

With regards to Nancy Kane have you tried looking in church records in Dungiven to see if you can find her birth record? Also,if you can find her marriage record it may give you her father?s name.
Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available.
