I am named for my Nana:  "Ellen Theresa Dillon," possibly changed by Ellis Island error from her family name "Dellaine?"

I seek information about her early life, parents and ancestors, siblings and their survivors. Thanks for any help!  Although we lived with her, she was not forthcoming. I always wondered, were they extremely poor, farmers, did they sing or play instruments.. While uneducated past 6th Grade, Nana read and wrote, well.   Did her family leave any writings or a journal? Music? Photos?

She was youngest of many, 14, perhaps, children, and was born circa 1887, in Abbeyfeale.  She was the last of her siblings to emigrate from Abbeyfeale to the States.  They came through Ellis Island, NY, USA.  She followed older siblings:   Michael, Patrick and Bridget to Lawrence, MA, USA, then resided from approx 1918-1974, until her death, in Manchester, NH.

In 1972, her son (my father) John Joseph McVeigh, and wife (my mother, Margaret) visited Abbeyfeale.  They met her nephew, "Jack Kelley," who lived in same small farm house house with wife, Nora, and raised  their children, including Kathleen, n?e 1942 and "Toots " n?e 1940.  Kathleen came to the States to study and live for one year in Manchester, NH, circa 1960.  Kathleen Kelley later married Chris ____, and they lived and raised a family in Knocknagoshel, in the 1960's, 70's and 80's. Many thanks. Ellen
