There was a Lawrence Fox born July-Sept 1922 registration district Castlebar, Co. Mayo, which is very close to Westport. This could be my father , does anyone have any details of his mother ,father or other family connections please

I'd say the best thing to do is to take the info you got from familysearch.org

and contact the General Registrar Office in Roscommon (see www.groireland.ie). If you have the volume and page number etc I assume you can pay the fee and get a copy of the cert. From that as its a civil cert you should get the paretns of Lawrence/Laurence and go from there. If it is the right one you can check the Ordnance Survey Map (both the modern and older) and see where axactly they lived (to the townland level anyway)
