I have been told that my G.G. grandfather (Michael) and his two brothers (William and John) left Ireland for Canada and first arrived in Newfoundland. I am not sure how long Michael and one of his brothers stayed in Newfoundland, but they did leave at some point, Michael settled in Guysborough, Nova Scotia while the other brother settled in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Michael was born in 1809 as far as I know and the only information I have that he is from the Waterford area is on a birth certificate of one of his daughters where it asked where her father was from.
My wife and I are planning on visiting Ireland in September and would love to know more about my Irish relatives. Thanks for you assistance Joe Quirk

Hello Joe,
Go to WWW.rootsireland.ie and search the church records for your people.
I found a Michael quirk born 1813 in the diocese of Waterford. If u view this record and look at the parent. names, you could then perform a search for William and john. I found three quirks Michael William and John in the parish of chair. Cahir is in co.Tipperary but the records are in the Waterford district as they were recorded by churc h dioscese.
Hope this starts you on your way,
