Looking for family of Francis Moles (born 1794 +/_ 3 yrs). He immigrated from Ireland (port of Belfast) sometime between 1805 and 1825. Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there,
I went onto www.rootsireland.ie and put in the name francis moles, no date. There was only one record in the whole of ireland. this was in Co. antrim so I would suggest that there is where you should start.
francis moles born 1844 co antrim.
I know this is not your francis but it's such a rare name that I believe this is a relative. perhaps a nephew. If you get his fathers name, you might have the name of your man's brother and you will be able to further search back through the records.
regards,
Anne

Hi
I do a bit of research in Tullylish Parish and the name Moles does appear in our register. We have a Joseph Moles in our records, married to Mary Monaghan and they had a daughter Anne born 18.12.1856.
Hope this might help.

My paternal grandmother was Isabella Moles born Dec. 25, 1880 in Belfast to Isaac John Moles & Mary Crothers. Isabella Moles married William John Coulter and were parents to my late father David Coulter born 1911 in Belfast.
I believe Isaac John Moles' father was Samuel and Co Down seems to be their original place of residence as It was with the Crothers family. Ultimately a lot are buried in Belfast Cemetary and surrounding Shankill area.
The Moles family managed a fabric mill in Belfast and Isaac John worked there for his uncle Oliver Moles. I have read they developed the first diaper or nappy there. We have many relatives with whom we have been in touch and who reside in the US.
