Looking for Anne Loughran and family. I have a marriage record from Killeeshil Parish for her marriage to Edward Murphy (of Donaghmore Parish) dated 20 Jan 1818. The record I have only shows one witness, Patrick Loughran. Don't know if this is father, brother, uncle...

I found Anne (Loughran) Murphy in the New York Emigrant Savings Bank records. The entry states she arrived in New York Feb 1848 per ship Ashburton. I can find the Ashburton arriving in NY, but not in Feb 1848.

Anne & Edward had the following children:

Andrew, James, Edward, May, Ann, Michael (my 2nd great grandfather), Neil, Rose.

Looking for townland and any living relatives.

  • An Ann Laughran was the witness listed as a godparent on my great-grandaunt's baptism. Catherine Conlin (my great-grandaunt) was baptized on 11 November 1843. My great-great-grandparents were James and Mary Conlin. The marriage certificate of James and Mary list Mary's maiden name as Laughran. However, my great-grandaunt's death certificate lists her parents as James and Mary (nee Laughlin) Conlin as her parents. Therefore we are not sure if the death certificate or the marriage license is correct. If this is the same Ann Laughran, I can provide information about her relative -- perhaps sister or daughter -- who immigrated to the US, settling in Brooklyn with her two daughters, Ann and Catherine. We were told that James Conlin was buried at sea on the journey over.
