I am researching FOY, BRENNAN and HEALY/HEALEY lines. Foy line came from Collagh to Swinford.  I have a Matthew Foy (b. abt 1821) married to Bridget Oliver and would like to know if I can get more information and possibly go back further.  Foy family are Catholic and attended the Swinford Church.

Would like to try find connection, if any, to FOY/LOFTUS and/or BRENNAN/HEALY.  Currently have info around 1866 but would like to go back further.  As far as I know also Swinford area.

Thank you!

Carol

  • Prior to 1856 Griffiths valuations which you appear to have checked you can go back as far as 1823-37 - the Tithe Applotments.

This website has burials from all over Mayo, there is a Foy Headstone which mentions a Matthew so may be connected to your family, this is in Kilconduff Cemetery in Swinford.  You can search this site for your other names.

    Good luck with your research

  • Hi,

My family have connections in the Swinford area (Kilconduff parish) in around your time frame ,but im not aware of any Brennan connection. Michael or Mhichil Healy was born early 1800s and lived in Clonlumley ,Swinford. I dont know what his wifes name....does this mean anything to you?
