O'Hara early 1800s - Parents of Mary O'Hara born approx 1831

Unfortunately, it may be difficult to find records on Mary and her family without more specific place of origin. Do you have documentation belonging to Mary that mentions any place name? This can be official or unofficial documentation such as census records, wills, death/marriage records or diary entries, letters etc.

Have you looked into her emigration? The Public Record Office of Victoria has good online databases of settlers at www.prov.vic.gov.au Otherwise, other records may be found in the Colonial Office Papers of the UK National Archives, class reference CO 201.

There are a few places online where you can try and do a search for Mary, however, without more information it will be hard to confirm what records are relevant to her:

www.familysearch.org Has a large selection of genealogical records available, including some births and marriages in Ireland.

www.rootsireland.ie have a vast collection of Irish church records available, however please note you have to pay to use this site.

http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp The  Tithe Applotment Books were compiled between 1823 and 1837 in order to determine the amount which occupiers of agricultural holdings should pay in tithes to the Church of Ireland. However, these do not contain any genealogical information, only the names of occupiers, the amount of land held, and the sums to be paid in tithes.

I have spoken to Melissa, Mary O'Hara could be from Gortskeddia Crossmolina Mayo, father Dennis O'Hara, mother McCann, sponsor at the baptism Roger O'Hara, baptism 1834 Gortskeddia Crossmolina Mayo

Can anyone help, Mary was sent to Australia as part of the Earl Grey orphan  emigration scheme
