I am searching for the place in Ireland that my great grandfather, Owen Ambrose McGarry, emigrated from to Kings County, Nova Scotia, Canada, early 1840's. Owen was born 1810 and a clue is in Mayo, Ireland. His wife, Mary Cecelia (Trainor or Trainer) was born July 11, 1820 and died May 9, 1901. Owen died June 19, 1899 - both in Kings County, Nova Scotia. They had a daughter, Ellen Margaret born in 1841 - Ireland by NS Census. A son was born in NS in 1843 and Owen applied for a NS Land grant in 1844. I have found no passenger list with their names. My dream is to find the names of their parents and the locality in Ireland that they left when they emigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada. A marriage record would be welcomed. Your project Ireland Reaching out is a great idea and I know it will be very successful. Hopefully, with luck in finding their homeplace I may take a trip to Ireland. Thanks. Glenda Bishop

Thanks, I see that I have successfully posted my message. Your volunteers are to be commended for taking on this unique project 'Reverse Genealogy' . Until this evening when I came across your website 'Ireland Reaching Out' I had no idea where or how I could reach anyone and get my message posted. Now, I feel as though I am almost holding hands with another descendant - thousands of miles away. Thanks for this wonderful experience. Glenda Bishop
