My Stanton ancestors left the parish of Kilmoe (Goleen) in the 1880s and 1890s and emigrated to Whitinsville , Massachusetts. I see that you listed “Whitensville” in your posting and am curious to know what connections you know of between Whitinsville, Massachusetts and Kilmoe Parish.

- Joe, my research was done at a time when it was painstakenly done before Family Search had all the records online, as they do now. From my printed data on Whittensville I have Burchill, Connolly,Connor, Coughlan, Leary,Mahoney, Reilly, Stanton (Ellen born 1884, arrived in 1894), Sullivan, Wilbanks and Wilkinson surnames. I'm sure there are lots more I never found using the hunt and peck method of yesteryear.

Thank you Mary Jean. My direct ancestors from Goleen are Wilbanks, Wilkinson and Burchill. My great grandmother form Goleen, Sarah Anne Wilkinson relocated to Ansonia, Connecticut
I know other Wilkinsons and Millers and Burchills ended up in Rochester or Buffalo. Also from West Cork my Chambers family ended up in Buffalo NY and Ansonia Ct.
Thank you for sharing information, Barbara Baxter USA
