Christopher and Elizabeth Cuthbert were married 30 March 1769 in Delgany.  At the time of his marriage, Christopher was from the village of Killincarrig.   The Parish Registers of Christ Church Delgany show the baptisms of their children:

Mary, Nov 1769;

Robert, May 1772;

Christopher (junior), Dec 1774;

Charles, March 1776;

William, Jan 1779 ;

John,  Nov 1781;  and

Jane, Jan 1791.

The family lived at Windgate at the time of at least one of the baptisms.

William married Margaret Dalton on 24 Sept 1812 at St. Paul's (Church of Ireland) in Bray, and I've traced his descendants there and later in Canada and the US down to the present.

I would be very interested in any information about William's siblings - Mary, Robert, Christopher (junior), Charles, John and Jane Cuthbert.

    Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching.-including their emmigration/settlement abroad.The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you.

    Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

    Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Jack!  Thanks for the information on Ireland Reaching Out from the Cuthbert headstones at St Paul's in Bray.  Yes, these are my ancestors.

    Wondering if you are related to the McDonalds (different spelling) who married into the Cuthbert family. Richard Cuthbert's second wife was Elizabeth Mary Westropp McDonald.  Her father was Francis McDonald of Farran Kelly, Delgany, Co Wicklow.

    Best wishes, Marcia.
