Hello, I am trying to find out more about my great great grandfather William Coffey. We believe he was born in 1838 in Waterford County. We have him arriving in Boston in 1856 possibly from Liverpool. He died in Boston in 1901. We are not sure what town he was from. I am in Ireland in late September early October and would love to look further into this. His Son Thomas Coffey, his son James Coffey, his son William Coffey who is my father.
Thank You
Sean Coffey

Hi: I, also, am researching my COFFEY ancestors in Co. Waterford. I bellieve that my grandmother, ELLEN COFFEY, was born in Savagetown, Dunhill, Co. Waterford in Oct.,1863. Ellen came to the USA sometime in the 1880's to Manhattan, NY. Ellen married SIMON PETER BACON (Samuel) and they had 6 children.
Martin Coffey m. Bridget WALSH sometime in the 1840"s. The children were: Matthew b.1861, Ellen, b. 1863,
David, b. 1867, Kate, b,.1872, John, b. 1875, Mary, b. 1876, Maurice, b. 1878, Margaret, b. 1881, Martin, 1887.
As far as i know, my grandmother, Ellen Coffey and her brother John Coffey, were the only two Coffey children
to come to the USA. John came to Boston, Mass. in 1902,
I am trying to find out which church they attended to obtain additional information on my Coffey family. I would like
to hear from you about your Coffeys. If I find additional information about the Coffeys, I will send it onto you.
Best regards,

Hi, I know this post is very old but il reply anyways. Did any of you find out more about the Coffeys? My name is Louise Coffey and my Granddad came from Savagestown Dunhill, Michael Coffey. I know some of them went to America but I don't know who. The headstone on the grave in Dunhill goes back to the early 18th century but it's hard to read. My sister did a lot of family research so I can ask her about this. Thanks.
