I am researching the Hopkins Family who held Strathnakelly Townland from about 1650 to 1900 and from there spread to Ballard, Corndog, Sleiveroe, Askakaeagh, Clonegal and a number of other townlands.
A large number of familieis emigrated to Canada.

Ross:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Here is some information on your family which may duplicate what you have already. The townland is Stranakelly in Mullinacuff civil parish. The 1854 Griffiths valuation head of household listing (first link) shows three Hopkins entries in Stranakelly. The 1901 census for Stranekelly shows a Jane Hopkins age 76 (second link). Note the surname was mistranscribed as Kopkins and I have alerted the National Archives of the error. Jane was not there in 1911 and I did locate a 1909 civil death index record which is likely for her.
Let me know if you have questions.

Hi again and sorry for such a long delay.
Jane Hopkins, age 76, who was living at Strathnakelly in 1901 was a widow. I am unsure what her maiden name may have been or who her late husband was.
A Nicholas Hopkins was living on about 12-15 acres at Strathankelly and he died or was buried Oct 28, 1892 at 79. (c1813) I "suspect" this might have been the husband. I also don't know how he was related to the other Hopkins who lived at Strathnakelly.
In 1848 he occupied 15 a of a 30 acre plot @ Strath. leased to Edwd, born c1770. He was Another Nich c 1800 occupied the other 15 acres. On the 1848 Occupiers List he is shown to be Nicholas Jr. Was he the son of Nicholas Sr, who was only 14 years his elder?
Any clues would ne helpful.
I'll try to do some more work on this
