Looking for family and information connected to the metal worker/moulder James ROCHFORD (aka RASHFORT) b:1840 and "Anty" Anastatia DOYLE b:1844. THey marry in 1876 and their 1st son Patrick is born 30 Oct 1876 followed by John b:1880, Robert b:1882, Kate b:1885 and Mary Anne b:1891. The family resided in Taghmon village according to the 1901 census of Ireland.
Patrick, a blacksmith, moves to Liverpool and marries Catherine Egan and they have 5 children who eventually move to the US & Canada.
John moves first to Liverpool and stays with Patrick then continues on to Massachusetts, USA where he marries Johanna Cummins and they have 3 children.
Kate also moves to Liverpool and is witness to Patrick's marriage in 1906 before moving to Massachusetts as well where she marries Nicholas J. McGrath and they have 5 children.
Robert & Mary Anne I haven't been able to follow.
The family belongs to the RC church according to the 1901 & 1911 census in Ireland & Liverpool.
I would lbe very happy to hear from anyone having information for any part of this family.

In the meantime have you tried looking in church records in Taghmon for more information? Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available. For parish, follow this link:
Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864 so any births, deaths or marriages in the family after this date would be recorded in these records. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office in Dublin. Here is their website:

Have you tried looking at the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century to see if there was family recorded in the area in the earlier part of the century? There are two:
